The two side panels are knitted firmer than the front, so most of the pull happens at the sides and the tummy is held without a hard press. The waistband is about an inch wide and denser than the rest, with a silicone grip on the inside, so it stays up at the ribs. The back is a narrow strip, wider than a string.
