DETAILS

SoftSculpt in Obsidian is the no-decision black - the only bodysuit we make with thin adjustable straps, shaping the waist and low belly while it holds the bust, and the easiest color to wear as a bare top. Sizes S–L.

Black is the one you wear out: opaque, forgiving, and with thin adjustable straps it passes as a delicate top rather than shapewear. The firmer panels take in the waist and low belly, the belly fabric stays easier, and the bust is gathered and held so a bra is optional. Worn with jeans or a skirt it's a neat black top that happens to shape.

Best worn on its own as a black top with the waist shaped and the bust held braless, and as a layer under dark clothing. It suits less well in real heat, above a size L, or if you want the very softest feel - see SmoothLayer (wide straps, to 2XL).

The nylon-Lycra knit is stretchy and soft but sits firmly on the body - noticeably firmer than StreetForm. It wicks and dries fast, good when it's warm. Control runs through the waist and low belly rather than the whole torso, so it shapes without feeling like a full clamp.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
Check our size guide; the run is S–L. Between sizes, size up. Braless as a top, plan for pads, especially in the light Cream.

CARE
Hand wash cold, or machine wash on delicate in a mesh bag. Mild detergent, no softener or bleach. Don't tumble dry, wring or iron; air dry flat.

How to Style It

Three firmer zones do the work: under the bust, along the sides and low on the front. The fabric over the upper tummy is softer, so the hold sits at the waist and below the navel. The neckline, armholes and back are wrapped in fine fabric, and the hem is finished flat. Cream is our lightest shade and a little sheer, so wear nipple covers or a nude bra with it.

It gives a smoother shape and does what it is supposed to do. For me, though, it felt a little too firm for longer wear, so I would only use it for specific looks.
